Re: Spironolactone-effective treatment for persistent acne?

Hi Christa,

I confess that my sex drive has decreased, but I have had that side effect with all other BCPs and my friends concur. I've been with my husband for 8 years now, so I hadn't made a connection between Diane and the fact that I just don't feel like having sex every day (or even every other day!). I wouldn't say Diane in particular has this side effect - I think all estrogens do that to a certain degree. But now you have me wondering if Diane isn't partially to blame for my libido slowdown. As for depression I would say that the joy I feel for my clear skin prevents me from getting too bummed out. I also exercise regularly which helps keep those endorphins flowing.
