Re: Spironolactone-effective treatment for persistent acne?

I've been taking Diane 35 for about 3 years, 6 mos, in combination with spiro 100mg/day (which started at 50mg/day and increased gradually over the past year). I've had good results and aside from the occasional zit I'm very happy with this treatment. Have faith Christa - it takes about 3 months to really notice results. I'm 33 now and I too found that my skin was worse in my late 20s than during my teens. My dermatologist offered accutane as an option, but the side effects sounded terrifying! I've tried at least 10 different BCP brands/formulations over the past 10 years and Diane has worked best for me by a longshot. People comment on what great skin I have! (My only distress now is the hair thing, however the spiro is supposed to help that too).
