Re: Ectopic Pregnancy w/ ruptured tubeFrom: Aly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 23 Mar 2001 09:37:53 -0600 (CST)
I have not had an etopic pregnancy, but have friends who have and have gone on to have successful pregnancies. I believe it is just a fluke that that happens. I have had a miscarriage where they also left me on a table in the ER for several hours, not coming to help me until I felt the baby slide out of my body. Then they took me upstairs for D&C. Most horrible experience of my life. As for now not having one tube, don't let that worry you. At the age of 16 I had surgery to remove two larges cysts from my ovaries. At the age of 18 one had grown back on my left ovary the size of a grapefruit and they removed the whole ovary and tube. I was terrified that I would have the same thing happen to my right ovary and I would never be able to have children, but thankfully it never did. I am now the proud mother of four boys, including a set of fraternal twins. Obviously one ovary & tube were working overtime! Hang in there. Good luck. I am very sorry for your loss. Another mother does understand that you have indeed experienced the loss of a child. There is an excellent chance of you having a successful pregnancy though - so don't give up.
