It is a very personal thing and all about your own "comfort level" with your bf. I agree with educating him on PCOS as is it something that you must live with, and understanding provides clarity and comfort. :) I can relate to the "chin hair" thing and being worried about it very much. I was always VERY self conscience about it, until I met my fiance. Now I don't flinch when I feel a hand where I used to just about FAINT !
