Hi there. I, too, have this problem, althought the Dermatologist I saw yesterday didn't notice it. (My appt. was literally about a minute long). However, he did notice this on my neck and Rx me "ammonium lactate" or "lac-hydrin" which I researched on rxlist.com and found that it too is for ichthyosis, the scaling skin. My instructions are to use it twice a day to "neck and axilla". What is an axilla?? I guess I can use this on my legs too? I wish I could just pout it into a tub and bathe in it. That's how dry my skin is. I did explain that my skin is severely dry and scaly all over, but the instructions don't say "apply everywhere" or to "affected areas", so I'm afraid to use it anywhere else. Perhaps this would also work in place of the Amlactin that you are searching for. Mine is a 12% cream that comes in a long, 140 gm tube, 2 to a box. See if you can find this one. They're by Rx only though. Good luck!
