Re: Ovarian Drilling and Pregnancy

I now realize that the drilling is not to cure PCOS..however my doctor told me that is why they did it. He said that it can make PCOS spontaneously resolve by allowing the release of eggs. I was not intending to get pregnant and was never told about the "internal" portion of the procedure. I woke up with intense genital pain and had lots of bleeding...I later asked my doctor why and he said they had to do something vaginally. Needless to say I found this experience very frustrating due to being misled and uninformed. I am very happy to hear this procedure has helped you!!!

The purpose for drilling is NOT to "Cure" PCOS. It can ease "Polycystic Ovaries" The term simply means multiple ovarian cycts. Not the same as PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome. In Polycystic ovaries the procedure can help because women with polycystic ovaries typically have ovaries that have a tough shell and eggs can't get out and thus the cyst festers (sorry) it can create weaker areas for the egg to break through.
