Just curious

Last year I had extensive testing done for pcos and it was ruled out. Since last year I put on over twenty pounds, have noticed regular outbreaks of acne (not major just here and there) and think my hair is thinning in the front. My periods are also irregular, though I do get them at least seven times a year.

I had the same symptoms last year except for the acne. I am wondering if there are specific tests that should have been performed. I had a complete set of blood work done including thyroid, hormonals, etc. and had ultrasounds done as well as the usual "gyno" work ups. My diagnosis was "Nothing in particular".

Is it necessary to test every year for this? Should I have gotten a second opinion?
