I've had ovarrian drilling done 2x and both times it was done during a laparoscopy to remove adhesions. There was only minor spotting from the device that is inserted into the vagina to hold the cervix. (Found that little lovely tid bit on the surgical report) My recovery was about a week or so. My first drilling was 9-7-99 and I got pregnant on my own in July 00, unfortunately lost the baby at the end of Sept. The second time was just Janurary 4th 2001 and since that time I have had 2 normal periods and ovulated as usual.

Everybody is different. The purpose for drilling is NOT to "Cure" PCOS. It can ease "Polycystic Ovaries" The term simply means multiple ovarian cycts. Not the same as PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome. In Polycystic ovaries the procedure can help because women with polycystic ovaries typically have ovaries that have a tough shell and eggs can't get out and thus the cyst festers (sorry) it can create weaker areas for the egg to break through.
