According to what my sister was told while she was TTC when your cervical mucus is at it's thickest it's just before you ovulate. She was told that the best time to have sex would be as soon as the cervical mucus is no longer white and thick (which should be the day after ovulation).

It may be a matter of opinion on what day is best and what not but in a couple of months I will be an auntie. So long story short she had luck with that method after 3 years of TTC.
