Help...pancreatitis??From: Sally (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 14 Mar 2001 22:05:37 -0600 (CST)
Does anyone know if PCOS can cause pancreatitis? I have been having pain on and off in my right upper abdomen and through to my pain. For the last week, I have been slightly feverish (not significant, been very faitgued and weak, sweaty, and been having nausea/indigestion. Anyway, I have a slight cough but no illness that seems to explain how weak I have been feeling. So this abdominal pain was really bothering me tonight so I researched it on the internet. It really sounds like acute pancreatitis...I have all the symptoms. Of course, I also have high cholesterol, high insulin and glucose levels, and am overweight which are all risk factors for pancreatitis. The pain is not debilitating but I am really not feeling great overall. What should I do? So far I have been carrying on but have missed 1 1/2 days of work in the last week due to the fatigue and fever (I work with sickly infants and didn't want to risk getting them sick). I am thinking I should give it another day or two to see if it goes away. What do you think??? I am feeling kinda confused whether this is something "serious" or just a little virus that will go away. Thanks in advance!
