Very low carb dieting can result in about a 10% reduction in weight without exercise. Finally, many bcps can raise bp; I'm talking about the normal pills that contain estrogen. My b/p got to about where yours is and they wouldn't let me have normal bcps anymore. I now take one called Micronor, which has only progesterone in it. I stopped Met, and now take Spiro + Micronor + Atkins low carbing, and have lost 37 lbs without exercise and have seen my b/p reduce. Otherwise your doctor may suggest medication which helps bring down high blood pressure, since you don't want to have a long-term risk of damage from years of high b/p. Just be aware that several of them can cause loss of libido; sometimes a switch to a different kind can help, so you would have to bring it up if it becomes a problem. There are options, but you will have a lot to consider based on your own situation. If you choose lowcarb, there is sooooo much help and inspiration at http://www.atkinsfriends.com; lots of PCOSers hang out there. Hope this helps!!
