My hubby is 5'8 and 300 pounds. This was the first flight he absolutely
couldn't get it buckled. NW buckles have been tight but he could buckle
them. As much as I dislike SW we've had the least amount of trouble
with their seatbelts, always plenty long.
My husband likes to request window seats instead of aisle seats. He
HATES getting knocked into by everyone in the aisle. He likes the
window seat so he can "cuddle" up with it instead of being right on top
of someone with the middle seat or bumped into with the aisle seat.
Emergency row seats often have more leg room as do the seats BEHIND a
dividing wall. The seats in front of the walls often don't recline.
While the actual seat is the same size the extra leg room helps so you
don't feel so squished.
1st class seats are usually a good bit wider than the regular seats but
it's so expensive! I've heard that some business class seats are
comparable width wise and would be less expensive.
You might try calling the airlines, maybe they can tell you about the
seats on a particular flight. It really sucks people have to worry
about this! Hubby won't fly Delta again because of that one plane and
it's ridiculously short belts and narrow seats.
