Re: My Biggest Fear--Fitting My Butt in an Airplane SeatFrom: Sally (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 9 Mar 2001 19:23:46 -0600 (CST)
Funny this topic should come up. My fiance lives in Scotland and I live in Chicago...this means LOTS of long plane trips. I went over 2 weeks ago and was squished in the CENTER seat even though I had requested the window. It was so miserable! I am 175 pounds and all I could think of the entire plane ride was how desperately I needed to lose weight! As for Southwest Airlines, the good news is that if you are one of the first to check in (so your number is one their first categories called) you will get your full pick of seats. So, as long as there are any open seats left at all nobody will have to sit next to you. I personally like the SW tactic because I usually get there plenty early and can sit anywhere I want (if you sit in the front on the aisle most people just keep on walking past you!). This sounds selfish but it works.
