Laser Hair Removal and Vaniqa creamFrom: Dona (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 7 Mar 2001 19:17:00 -0600 (CST)
Hi everyone, I had my first session of Laser Hair removal this morning. It actually wasnt as painful as I thought it was going to be and because the tip of the laser is large they can treat a large area at one time...the proceedure only took about 10 minutes on my chin and jawline. It felt very hot while she was doing it...but not to ubearable. It was much easier, faster and less painful than when I had electolosis a few years ago.I was told it will take 2 weeks to see the results and dead hear should just fall out by then.my doctor said if I see no results by then that she wil do it again free of charge. I have 2 more treatments to go and will be all done with this. They do it at 6 week intervals. My Doctor also gave me an RX for Vaniqa cream to use when I am done with the laser tx if I want but I might not even need it. It cost $66.00 for one tube and the pharmacy had to order it. should get it by saturday. My doctor said that one tube lasts most of her patients 1-2 months. I was also told not to use vaniqa if I become pregnant...she said it is a testosterone derivative (eflorinine i think is the chemical name)it is a class c medication and may or may not cause birth defects. Well thought this might interrest some of you who are thinking of using laser and or vaniqa. I'll try to let anyone who is interrested know the results with both. Dona
