I don't think spotting is necessarily a sign of an STD, I have it every month and before I was on met, it wasn't uncommon for me to have a month where I spotted on and off the whole time.

However, if you're really concerned have your doctor do blood tests there may be something they missed in the exam. It couldn't hurt and it'd put your mind at ease.
