Glucophage and Eating Disorders, Any info out there? Reply: jodi: "Re: Glucophage and Eating Disorders, Any info out there?" I was wondering why the warning label on glucophage says that it is not for people with eating disorders such as bulemia. Does it just say that to keep someone from an improper diagnosis before treatment, or is there a side effect for those that are purging? I've read that sometimes those who are purging are also releasing hormones differently. Could that be a danger when combined with the glucophage or are they just thinking that someone that is purging is sending their hormones out of wack and it would stop if they would stop purging, with no medication needed?
