Whole grains are the best! Especially whole barley, it has a very low glycemic index. You can go to http://www.drmirkin.com to buy grains if they aren't available locally. I am fortunate enough to have a co-op in town that carries everything imaginable in bulk. What about spelt pasta? That is recommended by Dr Larrian Gillespie author of goddess diet. It is much high in protein. I'm cutting out all refined products. Dawn
