As I said before, there should at least be some type of appeal process, I'm sure Canadian law is far more comprehensive when it comes to patient's rights than the US. Have the Doc write a letter to the insurance company telling them that basically an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure: BCPs, Metformin/Avandia, etc., now, as compared to: adult onsent diabetes, heart problems, hi cholesterol, etc., if not treated properly.

Then, if that fails, sue if you can. Good luck!
