Hi Amy, how weird that your doctor would treat this so lightly! Don't panic though, there are a lot of answers out there for you.

Yes, you can have PCOS and regular periods. It's a syndrome, meaning that not every woman will have the same symptoms. Weight gain and facial hair are two of those, as are heavy periods I believe, and PCOS seems to be related to thyroid issues. I find it weird though that no tests were run to check things like your insulin levels or LH and FSH. PCOS does not always mean infertility! Many of us here are trying to conceive and sometimes that is more difficult witht he irregular periods. Also many of us with PCOS do not ovulate very regularly or at all. But, this is all stuff that is pretty easy to correct. Bottom line, getting preggers might not be quick and easy for you, but it isn't totally out of reach either.

I would ask your doctor some specific questions and if he isn't treating you as aggressively as you like, or continues to treat your health so lightly, definitely find another doctor! Good Luck hun-
