Testosterone Level and LH/FSH Level???? WORRIED!!!!!!!

Hi, I have not yet been diagnosed with PCOS but I do have several symptoms and my doctor suspects that I may have it. I have difficulty maintaining my 'normal' weight and have developed acne type spots over the last nine months. I have also noticed increased hair on my upper lip. My periods are bizarre! Only about 1 in 5 of them are 'normal'. I get really really bad PMS but at the end of it, quite often very little or no period at all. my doctor has put me back on the pill (which has done nothing for my skin, but I did have a 'normal' period last month- hurrah!). I have had a blood test and am now awaiting an ultrasound. However, I couldn't get an ultra sound appt for a few weeks, so my blood tests results are back but I won't see my doctor until after the ultrasound (mid march). The nurse who gave me the results simply said that 'my serum testosterone levels were low' and I should see my doctor. Surely my symptoms (esp my acne) point to my testosterone levels being high. If they are low, then I take it theres no way I can possibly have PCOS?? I'm very confused! I was wondering if perhaps this was just a medical thing... if serum levels are low, does that mean 'free' testosterone is high?

Sorry I feel so stupid as I am not giving you any useful info at all....
