-- I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 years ago. I was even able to get pregnant on Fertinex and have two boys. The second pregancy was difficult, colic, etc. I became depressed and started Paxil, I developed a herniated disc (back problems), colicy baby contributed to depression and 20+ pound weight gain. I read the article to mentioned and decided to try to get a endo to put me on it. I didn't have any luck. He suggested birth control pills which had not helped in the past. I remained on Paxil, but finally decided that I was going to take control of the situation. I started exercising every day, dieting, and had my repro endo put me on met. He thought it was a great idea. I have only lost 8 pounds in the last 2 months, but that is a miracle for me. I am exercising daily, doing weight watchers, and have just started the met. I have stopped the Paxil for depression, and feel much better now that I have been exercising. It took almost a month to get used to exercising, but now I feel like it is a much bigger help than the Paxil ever was. I had to force myself to get out of bed and exercise, but am glad I did. I started reading all of these postings, and felt that if met helped so many people, I would give it a try. It does case me to have diarrhea, but I think its worth it. Good luck to you. I know the extra weight and depression combine to make a vicious cycle. I didn't loose any weight for the first 6 weeks of exercise, but I did feel better.
