While I can't answer your other questions, I can tell you that there is no such thing as "contracting" PCOS. To contract something is to catch it from someone and you don't catch PCOS. It's just a syndrome that your body develops. No one really knows quite what causes it but since it can run in families, there is strong evidence that it is genetic. Perhaps a genetic tendency for cells to become insulin resistant.

You need to find a qualified dr in your area who can tell you for sure if you have PCOS or not. They will do this via blood tests and physical evaluation.
