When I lived in the UK I went privately and got the scan in one week and the results immediately. If you pay out of pocket it is a little expensive but the peace of mind may be worth it...I think the consultant was 100 pounds per visit and around 150pounds for the ultrasound...and it was done by a radiologist not a technician so the results were gien as he did the scan.
