Re: 32 - thinking of going straight to adoption without undergoing fertility treatmentsFrom: paula (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 6 Feb 2001 19:11:10 -0600 (CST)
well i dont know that i qualify as a "mass" lol..(that term carries less than desirable connotations in my circle of friends =) but i agree with you. my husband and i have often thought of going straight to adoption...we are gonna give clomid a go, and probably the HCG injections, we are limiting ourselves to 1 year of cycles and then bowing out. i have had 2 periods naturally in my entire life, so my chances are also slim. nevertheless we have decided we need to at least give it the "old college try." im adopted, and so i have no reservations about adopting. in addition, IF i do have a child, i am going to have a hysterectomy after. i want to eliminate my risk of uterine and ovarian cancer. likewise if we adopt i wish to have the same surgery. i do wanna tell you that you need to have a period every three months (although im sure you know this) if you are not having them naturally you need to have them induced to omit your risk of cancer. hope this helps you, and best of luck =) love, paula
