I truly believe some doctors are a little confused, maybe what your doctor meant was that you have PCO (Poly-cystic Ovaries) not PCOS. You could easily have cystic ovaries and not have the whole syndrome. Which would be good news for you :) My RE told me that women who have PCO not PCOS also have elevated ratios of LH/FSH because of the cysts in their ovaries. I would highly suggest that if you are concerned you have PCOS then get ALL of the testing done first.
