i can only relate my experiences and hope they can help you. a little over a year ago my husband and i were ready to get a divorce. i was exhausted all the time, depressed and extremely emotional.i knew it was the PCOS, but i didn't care. i thought that there was no point in bothering, i would never get better.....THEN...i found out about the insulin connection to PCOS and all of a sudden (well to put it bluntly) that lit a fire under my ass. it was like a light bulb went off in my head. i sought out a doc who knew about the PCOS and insulin connection. this doc put me on 1500 mg of glucophage per day and told me how to modify my diet and such. almost immediately i felt more energy, i had horrible side effects tho and was sick for about 4-6 weeks, but even though i was sick, i wasn't so much tired anymore. i did go on an anti-depressant (paxil) because i thought i needed a saratonin boost for awhile. flash forward 1 year...i still get tired, but only when i eat what im not supposed to...i still get bitchy and moody, but only when i get my period or i eat too many carbs...i am off the anti-depressant...and my husband and i are doing well. we still fight and fuss, i doubt we will ever stop that, but that is how we are. it is not a result of my medical condition anymore.

the important thing..the thing that is going to get your wife back to you, is her treating the PCOS and insulin resistance. is she recieveing treatment? is she overweight? there are alot of questions to ask because i have no idea about her particular symptoms or history. IF you want some help and direction, or to talk you can email me. i promise i will not give your email to anyone, and i am sure i have alot of info that can help you if you are in the dark about treatment.

if your wife is like me, she loves you but she is lost in herself. this disease is weird, when it gets bad it gets ahold of you, and you feel so out of control. it is horribly frightening. you feel like your body is betraying you, and you dont understand why. knowing what can be done...knowing that SOMETHING can be done is often empowering.

my email is open. love, paula
