Re: PCOS & Uterine Balloon Therapy

I have tried the Provera & bcp's. They are awful! The birth control pills give me leg cramps, even at the low doses & the Provera gives me horrid mood swings. Both of them give me migraines, so unfortunately, they really weren't an option.

There was quite a bit of endometrial lining built up, according to my doctor. She also found quite abit of endometriosis, which she lasered off. Leaving the ovaries in the case of a hysterectomy isn't really an option, because of the basic overall condition of the ovaries. There is a strong family history of uterine cancer, so she wanted to be sure of what was going on in there.

Had the UBT done yesterday, along with the D&C, lap, etc.. and I'm glad now that I did. Like I said, the doc found quite a bit of endometriosis while she was in there. Some she said appeared to be very old, while there appeared to be alot of "newer" as well. The right ovary was pretty "tied down", while the left side of the rear uterine wall was covered as well.

Thanks for your comments!

Best wishes to everyone dealing with the PCOS!
