Scared Teen

Just so you all know, i am so scared about this right now and i dont know where else to turn. I am 17 years old, and for the past 2 years i have been experiencing problems with my menses. Sometimes i don't even get my period at all, for 3 months at a time. In between i get spotting, very very little amount, but i still get that sometimes for a whole month straight. I have noticed an increase in my weight, and facial hair above my upper lip and on chin. I visited my doctor last month and was examined. She then ordered several blood tests and an untrasound. The ultrasound showed that both my ovaries were swollen, about 1/2 times bigger than "normal". My bloodwork showed that my testosterone level was significantly elevated. So, my doctor started telling me about PCOS. She first suggested putting me on the Pill, but has since reconsidered due to the history of breast cancer in my family already. She is now leaning towards prescribing Glucophage for me. Will this medicine regulate my menses, and stop the production of any further facial hair? Since Glucophage is a medication that doctors prescribe diabetics, and i don't have a sugar problem, will it cause me to get low sugar? Also, could anyone tell me about electrolysis experiences...does it work...how long will it take until i am hair-free on my upper lip area? Please, if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated...thank you so much...
