Re: ***BIG NEWS*** & can someone give advice?From: paula (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Jan 2001 15:38:24 -0600 (CST)
you have been wronged. but im not sure about what benefit it will serve to complain. i will tell you that there was evidence about the insulin/PCOS connection as early as 1982, but only recently has the use of insulin sensitizer become common practice. nevertheless, you should have definately been told you have this and the potential risks involved. your doc should have at least made some semblence of effort to treat it. There are really only a few options for recourse. 1) call the original doctor or write a letter to that person demanding an explaination for the situation 2) contact the AMA and report his/her behavior. really i doubt you will ever get any satisfaction out of it, and that is wrong. but at least you will know you tried and did not stand still for someone withholding this info from you. hope this helps =) love, paula
