Unfortunately, the answer to your question is: It depends. As you probably know, many doctors are not PCOS savvy. Some of the cysters on this board have found that some RE's are pretty focused on patients who want to get pregnant and have no time or interest in those of us who are not(yet.) I just went straight for an Endocrinologist who had PCOS background and interest. I have been successful and she's wonderful, but many of us have not been so lucky.

I would recommend trying to find a "regular" Endo first. You might sidestep some of the frustration of having a doctor who's goals are different from yours.
