Hello. I too have PCOS and was diagnosed about 4 months ago. I too am about 119 pounds over weight. I am 29. I had a condition called Hyperplasia. A thickening of the uterine wall. I was constantly bleeding and it was very painful. My doctor discovered this by doing a uterine biopsy. It was done in her office and it isn't too bad. She uses a long slender needle like tube and puts it into the uterus throught the cervix. A tiny cutter comes out and snatches a piece of your uterine wall and as she takes the tube out the sample comes out with it. She put me on Progestrone (Megace) for several months then did the biopsy again. The Hyperplasia was gone. I have been on Megace for 2 years now and with the diagnosis of PCOS and me now being on Glucophage XR for 2 months now; I have been taken off the Megace and I should have my first period soon. (I hope) If my periods happen like they should, I should be doing well with PCOS. If I do not cycle, I may need horomone pills again. She retested my fasting insulin and glucose levels again to see if my dosage may need to be increased. I just thought I would let you know what I have experienced and I hope it helps you some with what's next.

I too can't wait to see what's next. Especially if I don't cycle. My doctor told me a hysterectomy may still not be out of the question. I went too long with PCOS and not doing anything about it. I would not cycle for years and then in 1997 I started a period that had no end. It got so bad in 1998 that I finally found a doctor who would help me and I told you what we discovered. Hyperplasia is a precurser to uterine cancer.

Let me know if you find out any more information. I am very curious.

Thanks,
