Cysts...down there

I haven't seen this question on the board yet so I thought I'd ask it. I know a lot of us get cysts in random places. But does anyone else get them on the vulva? I get them on the inner lips maybe once or twice a year.

Starts with a little twinge or itch and then I feel for it and there is a little bee bee size cyst. It gets bigger --usually only to the size of a small pea. (altho once the size of a grape -- ouch!!!) Occassionally they form a head and release themselves like (eee) a zit. But most of the time they just go back down in size and disappear on their own.

I have read in some women's health books that this is probably a "sebaceous cyst." And they are harmless altho annoying. I know it is not an STD either b/c I started getting them years before I was ever even remotely sexually active.

I always have just dealt with them, not knowing what caused them. BUt since I have discovered so much about PCOS, and how my cysts on my face, under arms and now ears (that's a new one!) are related to hormonal fluctuations and insulin levels, I am noticing a pattern. When I lowcarb, I dont get the cysts at all. And when I suddenly go off the wagon in a big way -- especially dramatically -- I get cysts galore!! Then if I get back on wagon with lowcarb, cysts start to disappear faster.

I just wanted to pass this along to the rest of you, in case anyone else was having this experience. And if you are, it'd be nice to know I am not alone!
