Thanks to all who answered the post. I think most people here are going to agree fat prejudice and hatred are affecting this diease and how we feel about ourselves and even getting cured. It shouldnt have taken me 5 years. Sometimes I wonder how much disablity I could have avoided if a doctor had done the right tests when I was 21 and said goodbye to my period forever? I do have some bitterness about that and getting so sick almost to the point of death. I dont want this to happen to anyone else.

Also those with metabolic obesity do not get a fair shake in our society. PCOS I believe is a worse illness in that many people do blame the sufferer and this is not correct. This is part of the medical establishments fault in how they treat obesity. Diets usually lead to gain. I have my own theories about what works because Ive worked with other severely obese people. The only superfat people I know who succeeded in regaining a mobile life where fat people who accpeted themselves and lost very slowly by healthy lifestyle changes. I have mentors who now are in the 200s and 300s in weight who were once, 600,800, and 900lbs. I found these people throught the internet!

I believe by my own research the link between PCOS and CUshings is much stronger. I tested postive on every test for Cushings except for the high cortisol and even that was borderline high. I have the hump even. I have severe hyperadrenalism I still have to lose about 20 more lbs to get MRIS done for the total outrule. Even my own medical diagnosis has been affected by medical establishment neglect of fat people, why shouldnt a 470lb women beable to get an MRI. One thing most people over 300lbs even cannot lay flat on their backs and breath without suffocating. which makes the MRI impossible and this also shows the lack of concern towards fat people.

Every sympton of Cushings is the SAME as PCOS except for the hump and the osteroporis.

For those wanting more info...I suggest http://www.cushings-help.com. This site is excellent. I go there for support and another cushings board. Im going to admit that there I do feel I relate better. My symptons are so severe. There are many people I relate to well here too....but I have found a lot of help and support on these boards too. Another one is http://www.support-groups.com, scroll down the the Cushings board.

The thing that gets me is I gained over 350lbs in 28 months and the shame and blame I got was so horrifying. Most of you dont realize I traded a NORMAL life for a life of disabilty between age 26-27 and age 28-29. I know how bad PCOS can get and what it can do to ones life. I also know fat hatred is ruining the treatment of this diesease and making people wait years for understanding and true help. I lost more weight even while on androgen blockers.

Fat hatred and prejudice is affecting all PCOSers in a bad way. One can lose weight without being shamed and blamed in the first place. Actually learning to love ones self free of this horrendous cultures messages about fat...actually leads to better health in the long run.

thanks for all the responses. Im glad I had many people on my side! take care!
