treated as one. you should never hear from a doctor "lose weight and
your hormones could even out" as the only treatment offered..
>> I have to agree with this. My most severe symptoms started when i weighed only 130 pounds (190 now). I do think that losing weight can have a tremendous help for us - mentally as well as physically, but we can't look at it as "if we lose weight all of our problems will go away." It is just not that simple. Excess weight can exacerbate the problem, but I am not convinced that it always causes it (as in my case). Just my two bits... PS...Hubby just surprised me with a whirlwind trip next month to Hawaii and asked me if I was going to lose any weight for the trip. Gee...it just sounds like so much fun now...And how much weight am I supposed to lose in 6 weeks? I love him, but he still doesn't understand much about this PCOS stuff. But...I AM going to put forth the effort. I am immediately going back on my low carb and exercising...if nothing else, but to help give me more energy. Shelly N.
