if it works for you, i think you will be one in a million. usually the bcp adds enough hormone to regulate the cycle, but it inhibits ovulation...so in no way does it repair the hormonal imbalance that causes PCOS to begin with. PCOS is usually caused by insulin resistance, and this is what should be treated. in my experience (and i have dealt with PCOS for 18 years) each time i was put on the bcp, my PCOS got worse, but the symptoms were not detectable because of the bcp, but when i stopped taking the bcp, my periods stopped, i gained between 40-50 pounds each time, the dark patches got worse, and the hair growth increased. there is nothing that could convince me to go back on the pill. i use provera every other month to induce a period.
