those with atypical PCOSFrom: anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 3 Jan 2001 21:29:38 -0600 (CST)
I just got diagnosed with PCOS, a couple months after my identical twin got the same diagnosis. Though we have some unwanted hair growth, adult acne, and don't ovulate regularly, both of us have high estrogen and sometimes too-frequent and heavy periods (including spotting). My PCOS may have been aggravated by a weightgain while I was on the Pill. I saw postings where others had the same "atypical" symptoms...but what do I do about this? I'm concerned that going back on the Pill to regulate my periods will cause me to gain more weight and make things worse. Is treatment different when you have these symptoms? Please help! I feel VERY confused.
-- Too many periods!
