Dear Jennifer,

Hello! Happy New Year : ) I haven't been coming to this site very long and I am not really up to date on the treatments. I sometimes feel like I have a doc who couldnt find his rear with both hands and a flashlight. With all of that said...this may not be of much help to you. Anyway here goes...

I was diagnosed back in March of this year with PCOS the major reason was I had continual pain in my right side. Severe pain making it unbearable to walk. They did an ultra sound on both ovaries and the right side was as big as my uterus. There were lines running through the ovary that caused the doctor to warn me of a slim chance I might have ovarian cancer. When he did surgery he determined I didn't have it but, he did have to section my ovaries to reduce their size. He even warned me that he might have to remove the right ovary. I dont know how educated this man is with PCOS but, I had been going to a specialist for five years and he never found the enlarged ovary. This man did. He told me I could still function with 1/11th of my ovaries.

I guess what I am trying to tell you is..I drove myself nuts. I took the worst possible scenario and tortured myself with it. When yes it did turn out that I had a problem but not the worst that it could be. His prognosis is that no I don't have cancer and yes I can still have children. I caused myself alot of needless heartache and sorrow convinced that it was gonna be really bad. I hope you will keep a positive mental outlook on the situation and I will say a prayer that you feel much better soon.
