Happy New Year to us all

Hey ladies,

I was out of town at my husband's family's place in Missouri for the holidays until yesterday (yes right in the middle of those ice and snow storms, took us 2 days to get flights home) so I haven't been keeping up (127 emails in 4 days from this board!!) but I wanted to say a few things to all of us as we get ready to face another year.

First off, thanks to Diane, Paula, Sonn, Smed and the others who faithfully answer questions for new visitors and avail themselves of every resource possible to help. If it wasn't for you ladies, I don't think I'd be where I am today in my fight for my health.

Next, I want to say that having people to talk to, vicariously as through this board, or directly when we call one another (Diane, it was so good to chat with you and I hope we talk again!) can really help us keep together, keep strong, and most importantly, keep informed - for both our sakes' and for our families, the people who love us.

Finally, this - we all will face many struggles in the next year. Some of us will find out our health is deteriorating despite the meds and the lifestyle changes. Some of us will acheive our dreams of conception and birth. Some of us won't. Many of us will fight with our friends, our husbands and boyfriends, our doctors, our coworkers and our bosses, saying terrible things we don't mean and acting out in ways we don't understand and can't control because we don't know what's happening to our bodies, and we can't keep those pesky hormones in check.

I want us all to remember, in times like these, that we are all good people fighting for our lives, and there can be no nobler cause. We must remember to forgive ourselves for the things we do. We are under a lot of stress, and sometimes this is the price of war. We battle for each other - we battle for our families, for the children we want so desperately to have, for the love we so desperately need to keep - and in this battle, I wish us all well.

Keep fighting the good fight. Think of your sisters, your daughters, your friends. If they someday find themselves standing by us in our struggle, may they be proud to count themselves among such women. I know I do.

I hug you all with my heart and my mind, every day.

Yours always, in solidarity,

--
