NO NO NO to 5000! It can be very dangerous, that is 2x the recommended maximum dosage! I take 2000, have full fledged type 2 diabetes, and can tell you that beyond 1000, the added 500 will make a MUCH bigger difference than the first dosage. You do want to work yourself up to it, but don't plan on going that high.
