Re: Changes in the genital area (labia)From: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 23 Dec 2000 18:23:22 -0800 (PST)
Hi Susan, This is very interesting information. I also had an enlarged labia minora and it was also on the left side and my hormone levels didn't have anything to do with it. I had to have surgery to have the excess skin removed, but as I told Rebecca I ended up having even more problems in that area almost a year after I had the surgery. I ended up having a condition called vulvodynia even though I needed to have surgery. When do you see your RE next? Would you mind asking her for Rebecca and I if this could apply to the labia minora? I too am going to ask my dr but I don't see my ob until I go back in Feb. The reason I go back in Feb is b/c I'm going to be having a biopsy done to make sure that I don't have endometriosis in my vaginal area. (Yes, I also have endometriosis in addition to the vulvodynia and the PCOS). If you would like to learn more about vulvodynia do let me know and I will be glad to pass on some links. Once again thanks for the info. ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Falls/4659/kristyspage.html Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products.
