PCOS -- How can I be sure?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 23 Dec 2000 14:57:33 -0600 (CST)
Can someone help me? I have had my ovaries operated on around 12 year ago for 'polycystic' ovaries. At that time, the cyst was 7cm in size. Since then, I have only had a similar pain once. When I went to the doctor, they did an exam and then a sonogram and found nothing. Only after I insisted, did they do a pelvic sonogram and found a cyst on each ovary -- only 1cm in size. My question is this! After all these years, no one really has guided me toward any treatment or has even stated that I have POCS! I have always been slightly overweight, have alot of facial hair and I am tired after I eat! My incredible concern is that now I have signs of diabetes -- none of my doctors, either my internist or OBGYN want to test for something they think I'm overreacting about! Does this sound like anyone's story and if so where can I go to a OBGYN in Westchester that tests for this without waiting for years to see if the pain comes back?
