Re: I have a Q?From: brdmadgrrl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Dec 2000 12:54:46 -0600 (CST)
according to some sources - i believe taking charge of your fertility says this - ANY artificial lubricant can hinder sperm. it suggests using only your own natural juices... so to speak... but as we all know sometimes that just ain't enough. that book gives a story about some couple using real eggwhites, but warns to warm them to room temp... but uhh, i don't know about you, but the idea of putting raw egg up there gives me the willies. i mean, i don't mind risking salmonella in the form of raw cookie dough... but one bacterial infection (from a diaphram) down there was enough to last a life time for me. i don't think i'll ever be able to smell seafood again without wanting to throw up!!!!!!!! i would think that - and be warned, i'm no expert - but as long as you don't squirt a big pile of it directly up inside you, it shouldn't even come near to clogging the entrance to the cervix, which should be all you have to worry about. i've learned the hard way that that stuff is pretty damn slippery, so as long as your sparing in its use, and careful where to put it (ie, don't apply to the tip of the penis with a trowel) it should be ok. and oh, yeah, of course make sure it's plain ol' ky or a generic equivalant (or a not-so-generic equivalant...). obviously, spermicide is a no go. :) i don't find that stuff to be particullarly slippery anyway, it seems sticky more than anything... and i'm allergic to it, besides.
