Re: DEBO: Hair Removal~electrolysis or laser????From: anony (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 15 Dec 2000 11:31:23 -0600 (CST)
That at-home 'electrolysis' thing is not real electrolysis and it is a rip off. Anything that claims to send electricity or whatever down the hair shaft will fail b/c hair doesnt conduct electricity. I have known people who've ordered those little machines before -- they are like $100 or $150 right? And advertised in magazines as well sometimes -- and it just fails. Also, the so called guarantee is a lie. They never saw there money again when they tried to get a refund. As for patents, patents these days are a joke. Anything can be patented. You can play tic tac tow and decide to patent your strategy. So i wouldnt really consider patents to be any big selling point. As for laser, they say that for hair removal to be allowed to be called 'permanent', you hav to have hair free area for 6 mos. And from what i understand laser can make it go away for like 3-6 mos. So... It's not like it wont ever come back. I have had traditional electrolysis over the years and while you have to zap the same hair several times, it does eventually go away for good. It is expensive tho and you dont always know if you have a good electrolygist or not... (2 out of my 3 have not been good unfort...) good luck hope this helped
