I have lost 30lbs so far on a low carb diet (Atkins). I have found that
my hair growth has slowed quite a bit and the hairs got finer and grow
more slowly, especially on my face.
I am also on glucophage and spironolactone. Can't say what might have
happened with only diet changes.

>I am 30yrs of age and recently diagnosed with Polycystic Overies.I have a 5yr old son.I just wanted to let you know that I weigh 114lbs at 5'6" I have never been overweight.I do get regular periods. As to excessive hair growth mine has been become increasingly scarry.I do have some excrutiating pain with my periods but it does not last long.Usually on my second day any where from 2-4hrs long and then the pain subsides.I sometimes wonder if my taking birth control pills in the past might have contributed to the problem I have now, which is PCOS.I have great curiousity to know how many women who suffer with this disorder have taken birth control pills in the past and how long they had taken them.As for weight,is being over weight or under weight really a factor?Or has something about our enviornment or do the stesses of every day life come in to play?
