(Okay trying to throw in MORE info) When I saw the folks at St Vincent's
in December 1999, they told me that rosiglitazones may help as well as
Metformin (with the exception that the weight loss isn't quite as
prnounced) but that they weren't available at that time in Australia. I
believe (am trying to remember!) that they told me at that time the
rosiglitazones were recently approved drugs in the US, and to ask my
father (in the US) to smuggle me some! I know this isn't too much help -
probably the best solution is ask your doctor.
