Breakthrough bleeding and BCP strength

Hey ladies,

Due to what I have read over the last few days, I think I have understood the term "breakthrough bleeding" to mean bleeding when you are still taking the BCP (meaning during weeks 1-3 if on a 21 day pack). If this is correct, then I definitely am experiencing this. I'm on Loestrin 1/20 and I started bleeding on day 10 of my pill pack. This is day 14 now and it has not slowed down - the cramps are enough that I went home early from work the other day (still not used to the damn things anymore) and the most worrisome aspect to me is the clotting. Excuse how graphic I am , but I am passing clots so large I can feel them coming - I have to get to a toilet when this happens! And this is happening every 15-45 minutes, for 2 days now.

The worst thing about it is that my wedding is next Saturday and I am praying this stops before then - any thoughts here? Are the BCP's just not strong enough? Maybe I need met?

Thanks, S.
