Re: Are you o9n BCP? I need a favor.From: Krista (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 1 Dec 2000 21:22:17 -0600 (CST)
I'm CURRENTLY on Desogen ... 0.15mg desogestrel and 0.03mg of ethinyl estradiol ... but I've been on 5 different ones in my history of trying to find one that didn't make me CRAZY emotional ... so I can also tell you that: LoOvral - 0.3mg of norgestrel and 0.03 of ethinyl estradiol Ortho-Tricyclin - Phase 1 - 0.18mg norgestimate, 0.035mg ethinyl estradiol Phase 2 - 0.215mg norgestimate, 0.035mg ethinyl estradiol Phase 3 - 0.25mg norgestimate, 0.035mg ethinyl estradiol LoEstrin - (couldn't find the wrapper here) Tri-Levlin - Phase 1- 0.05mg levonorgestrel, 0.03 ethinyl estradiol Phase 2- 0.075mg levonorgestrel, 0.04 ethinyl estradiol Phase 3- 0.125mg levonorgestrel, 0.03 ethinyl estradiol I've had quite a bit of difficulty finding a pill that is at least somewhat compatible with my body. The only one I've found so far has been the Desogen - and I believe STRONGLY that it is the BRAND and not the AMOUNT of progesterone in the pills that makes the difference. All three phases of the Tri-Levlin are lower doses of progesterone than the Desogen --- while I'm completely stable on the Desogen, all three months I was on the Tri-levlin I started bawling uncontrollably for NO REASON in my at the end of my active pills going into my sugar pills --- RIDICULOUS. Anyhow - I'd be interested to hear why you're asking, if you care to share at all. If you have any further questions about this stuff, I can share more that I've learned over the years ... feel free to e-mail me or just post it. k. gracie
