Well I wont' approach the hyst. concerns, but I can explain why the ovaries are not the problem. It is called PCOS, but one does not have to have cysts to have the disease. It is a hormone problem that causes all the syptoms including the cysts. That hormone problem is often caused by a problem with Insulin. Insulin is related to many hormones and it being out of control throws the rest of the body out. Therefore, if it is an insulin or hormone problem causing the symptoms, just removing the ovaries will not solve the hormone problem. This is a shortened version of the answer, but maybe it helped a little.
