Ovary removal??

I just read a response to another message from someone saying that a hysterectomy (sp??) might not cure the symptoms of PCOS ... but from my every understanding of this disease, its the ovaries that are causing all of the problems here. The response said that it was an endocrine disease ... so if its not the ovaries, what is it?? The pituitary gland?? Why wouldn't removing the ovaries solve all the problems?? I don't know ANYTHING about any of it --- and perhaps I just don't understand what a hysterectomy is --- and perhaps you can't just remove the ovaries without removing ALL of it ... anyhow, anyone with the time and knowledge, I'm all ears!!
