Re: Questions to ask on my first Endocronologist visitFrom: Becky (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 29 Nov 2000 21:44:24 -0600 (CST)
I was diagnosed with PCOS 6 years ago following a pelvic ultrasound to rule out the recurrence of endometriosis as the reason for some serious monthly pelvic pain. I was told that I had PCOS and I was given birth control pills to regulate my cycle. I bled through every variety that was tried until they gave me a years worth of Depo Provera in 1 shot. It produced nightmarish side effects but no period for 18 months and no pain for about the same length of time. Now older and wiser and still in pain I have begged my way into a referral to an endocronologist in my area that actually deals with PCOS. Any suggestions out there?I have no clue what to expect other than a lot of labs. I just want to know why I keep getting fatter, losing the hair on my head, and growing it every where else, sprouting skin tags at light speed, have no energy, and double over every time that I ovulate. Simple request , huh? Any advice? Please? Becky
